Anand was born to a fisherman family in Kovalam and chose yoga as his life path, studying both Yoga and Naturopathy. He is now a certified yoga teacher having completed his ATTC, and wishes to share the practice of yoga with the villagers of Kovalam and convert his family rooftop to his yoga Shala. Anand gets his strength and motivation from the feeling of connectivity and unity with his students. His sessions are traditional Sivananda classes, slow paced, meditative and encouraging proper breathing, flexibility, strength and vitality in the body while calming the mind. This class includes breathing exercises, warm-ups including Sun Salutations, 12 basic postures and deep relaxation. The focus is on mastering the basic postures from which variations are then added to further deepen the practice.

Samanta has been practicing mind-body health for over 20 years, and her work centers on Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Ayurvedic and Thai Yoga Therapies, Diet /Nutrition and Vedic Chanting. In July 2008, she partnered with Shaleen Parekh to open India’s first boutique yoga studio, Yoga Sutra. Over the last ten years she has explored and mastered several healing therapies for the mind and body, uniting awareness with movement, breath, heart, and humour. She teaches workshops and retreats around the world. This workshop centers on deep seated tension often carried in our neck, shoulders, lower back and feet, working on the principles of acupressure and yogic stretches and opening up the meridians in the body and allowing prana to flow.

The Tashi Lhunpo Monastery is based in Bylakuppe, Mysore District of Karnataka State. The original Tashi Lhunpo Monastery was founded by His Holiness the 1st Dalai Lama in Shigatse, Tibet. After the Chinese occupation of Tibet in 1959, many Tibetans came into exile in India. The Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in India was re-established in the year 1972 and today has more than 400 monks studying Buddhist Philosophy. Leading the chants will be Thujay Jorden, originally from Ladakh and presently doing work in the Tantric section of the monastery; Nawang Tandup from the Lahual Spiti area of Himachal Pradesh who has studied Buddhist philosophy, later joined the Tantric section of the monastery and is presently in charge of the main palace of the monastery; and Stanzin Wongdus from Ladakh, who also had studied Buddhist philosophical studies and presently is in charge of the main temple.
